Joe Jeffries was born and raised in Spokane, Washington. He attended Saint Martin’s college in Lacey, Washington where he received his Bachelors in Psychology/Social Work, and where he played 4 years of Division II Baseball on an athletic scholarship. In 2002, he moved to Winter Park, Florida, where he currently resides with his beautiful wife, Diem, and their two children, Payton and Mya.
Joe is a franchisee and owner of both Tijuana Flats and Jeremiah’s Italian Ice in Volusia County. His entrepreneurial spirit has contributed significantly to the local business landscape.
In 2012, Joe was diagnosed with melanoma, a form of skin cancer, but he successfully underwent surgery to remove it. However, in 2021, he faced another aggressive form of skin cancer known as Squamous Cell Carcinoma on top of his head. After multiple surgeries in Orlando and complications, Joe sought treatment at Moffitt Cancer Center, where he underwent 20 consecutive days of radiation therapy. Following months of healing and follow-up visits, Joe is now cancer-free and continues to receive regular check-ups at Moffitt.
Joe’s personal battle with cancer has fueled his commitment to raising awareness about this devastating disease. He actively participates in events such as the Tampa Golf Classic and supports the American Cancer Society. Joe believes that these events are crucial in saving lives and is honored to be involved in such meaningful efforts.
